Learning how to “whisper” means learning to understand dog psychology and dog language. We are able to teach these skills to others. It’s understanding that we need to change what the humans have been doing, if we are to change what the dog has been doing. One cannot continue doing the same thing while expecting different results. If we can’t change the human, we can’t change the dog. (c)
If your “trainer” needs to teach your dog “tricks” and use choke chains, prong collars, E-(electric) collars, or voice commands, squirt bottles, or shaker cans, bean bags or clicks and treats, to change the behavior of your dog, then perhaps you need to re-think HOW you are training your dog and why. “We do not TRAIN dogs! We teach them.” Changing a dog’s body position does not change the dog’s state of mind.
“If you were angry and you sat down, would you still be angry?” Janice Wolfe and
Mark German has developed a proven program based on more than 35 years of successful rehabilitation techniques that succeeds with every dog. “It just makes sense”. Janice is committed to sharing this knowledge and energy to improve the lives of dogs, and their owners, all over the country and the world, by teaching others these skills! WATCHING A TELEVISION SHOW IS NOT GOING TO HELP!“There are a lot of dogs to save”. There aren’t enough true behavior experts, specialists or “whisperers”. There are thousands of dogs needing help.
Dog Whisperer is a name given to someone who understands canine behavior, canine language, and has the ability to teach not only the dog, but the human. It is a PROFESSION, not an entity. Janice believes that others, including many dog trainers, veterinarians and dog owners themselves, should learn the valuable art of “whispering” or canine behavior, so that even more dogs with behavioral issues can be saved. That is what we teach! You just need to meet your dog’s needs. Just four things. It’s that simple. Then he will meet your needs. This is“A common sense approach to changing canine behavior”.
